How to take a screenshot

Screenshots are a handy tool that allows you to capture and save what’s on the screen, whether it’s an image, text, or any other visual element. Windows

  1. On your keyboard, use the “Windows + Shift + S” key combination.
  2. The screen will darken slightly and your cursor will turn into a cross.
  3. Hold the left mouse button and drag the mouse to select the area of the screen you want to capture.
  4. Once selected, release the mouse button.
  5. The screenshot will be automatically saved in the Windows clipboard.
  6. Open an image-editing software or other program (like Paint, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and paste the screenshot by pressing “Ctrl+V” or selecting “Paste” from the “Edit” menu “.
  7. You can then save the screenshot in the format of your choice by selecting “Save” from the “File” menu.

This allows you to capture an accurate screenshot and select only the part of the screen you want. Feel free to adapt these steps according to your specific needs.

Mac

  1. To capture the entire screen, use the key combination “Shift + Command + 3”.
  2. To capture a specific part of the screen, use the “Shift + Command + 4” key combination. A selection cursor will appear to let you choose the area to capture.
  3. Once captured, the image will automatically be saved to the desktop in PNG format.
  4. If you want to copy the screenshot to the clipboard instead of saving it to the desktop, add the “Control” key to the previous key combination.

Mobile Devices (Android & iOS)

  1. On Android devices, simultaneously press the power and volume down buttons to take a screenshot. On iOS devices (iPhone, iPad), press the power button and home button (or side button on recent models) simultaneously.
  2. The screen briefly flashes to indicate that the screenshot has been taken.
  3. On Android devices, the screenshot will be saved in the “Screenshots” or “Screenshots” folder in the gallery. On iOS devices, the screenshot will be saved to the “Photos” app.
